Urban agility E-bike

Qwic is a Dutch manufacturer of electric assisted bikes. During my graduation project at the Delft University of Technology I was asked to research design possibilities in order to attract younger urban users. To do so I conducted an explorative user research, including techniques like diary probing, context mapping and co-creation. This resulted in profound insights about how urban users conceive e-bikes and what burdens they face using Qwics current e-bikes in an urban context. Eventually these insights were translated in to a concept design e-bike and app. The concept design embodies a set of improvements which I consider to be important in order to create a better product fit within the urban market. These improvements focus on the physical interaction with the chunky battery, the interaction with the bikes electric system and the way user can protect the costly e-bike against theft.
